Letter about the Passing Away of Venerable Tenga Rinpoche

Dearest Kagyu Dharma-Friends everywhere,

This morning, at 3:24 am Nepali time our great and noble teacher Venerable Tenga Rinpoche left us. He entered his ultimate meditation of “thug dam” at his monastery in Kathmandu at the age of 80.

Rinpoche was the Dorje Lopon – tantric master – of Rumtek Monastery in Sikkim and accompanied Rangjung Rigpe Dorje, the great 16th Karmapa, on several of his world tours.

The year he stayed in Denmark – 1979 – he made lasting and deep contacts along the north-south axis of Europe and benefitted our growing Diamond Way centers and friends through his undiscriminating and constant compassion and wisdom.

Yours,

Lama Ole Nydahl
